Q. I say a thousand times yes. I'm currently a second year college student, and I'm in an advanced fine arts class. I've been studying anime as an art form for quite some time and have been literally blown away by some of the creativity and talent displayed. However, my professor seems to think that anime is some kind of pseudo art form, even after I showed him some amazing pictures. He doesn't deny that they are amazing, but continues to deny that they are real "fine" art and says all of the best anime artists could never be considered "masters" even though contemporary artists like Roy lichtenstein and Andy Warhol somehow made this list of so called "masters" (though personally I like Andy but he still isn't that amazing). It takes a lot of practice to be able to draw characters with in many different poses and facial expressions. I think that people don't consider it a true "art form" because it's very stylized, and they can't see the difference between different artists.
