We aim to include not only the definition of a word, but also enough information to really understand it. Thus etymologies, pronunciations, sample quotations, synonyms, antonyms and translations are included. Should some anime artists be considered "masters"?
Q. I say a thousand times yes. I'm currently a second year college student, and I'm in an advanced fine arts class. I've been studying anime as an art form for quite some time and have been literally blown away by some of the creativity and talent displayed. However, my professor seems to think that anime is some kind of pseudo art form, even after I showed him some amazing pictures. He doesn't deny that they are amazing, but continues to deny that they are real "fine" art and says all of the best anime artists could never be considered "masters" even though contemporary artists like Roy lichtenstein and Andy Warhol somehow made this list of so called "masters" (though personally I like Andy but he still isn't that amazing). I can understand… [cont.]

A. Of course they should! Some anime and manga artist's are incredibly talented. It takes a lot of practice to be able to draw characters with in many different poses and facial expressions. I think that people don't consider it a true "art form" because it's very stylized, and they can't see the difference between different artists.

Are there any other graphic novels that I should add to this list?
Q. I'm currently making a list of writers/artists/comic books/other recommendations for a friend of mine. He's interested in getting started with the medium as a whole, so no specific "type" of story. I've tried to give him some examples across several genres, though I have a huge lack of knowledge in the manga genre of comics. Here's what I've come up with so far. Any further recommendations would be appreciated but please add a bit as far as reasons you found them interesting/worthwhile. Comic Book Recommendations: Writers, Artists, Books, Recommendations from Others Writers: Warren Ellis (Excellent writer. Authority, Stormwatch, Freakangels it's all brilliant) Alan Moore (Sometimes he's hit and miss for me, I want to read his… [cont.]

A. That's a pretty good list, okay so I would recomend adding : The Ballad of Halo Jones - This is by far one of the best comics I've ever read, it consists of 3 books (9 were originally planned but there were disagreements over the rights to the characters or something) set in the 50th century. They follow the life of a basically ordinary women named Halo Jones and her escape from a dead end life in a community called the Hoop located outside Manhattan. In book one she escapes the Hoop, book 2 he is aboard a luxury space cruise liner, book 3 she is a soldier in a futuristic vietnam style guerilla war that defies the laws of physics and time. Simply AMAZING! "Where did she go? Out. What did she do? Everything." Tank Girl - As the name… [cont.]

What mainstream contemporary (hit) songs are being played on the RADIO these days?
Q. No Michael Jackson songs, please. What are some contemporary songs that get replayed on the radio frequently these days? I'm trying to change some songs into guitar chords. Artists/bands like: Katy Perry Rihanna Taylor Swift... Paramore If you have good suggestions, then feel free to name other artists and songs. And don't say how bad mainstream music is, and give me a list of emo/metal/punk/new age, or unheard of music. It has to be (sorry) "popular music" It's fine if the songs are old too, because I'm playing for some people, and as long as they know the songs: (Don't Stop Believing, Unwritten, Love Song...you get the picture) Most of the ppl will be around 12-14

A. Go to Billboard.com go to the charts section (both current and archival). You'll find all the titles and artists you need. From there go to the individaul songs via various search engines. Get the chord progressions and so on... -a guy named duh
