What headboard should I make and what chair should I get to make my room more frank lloyd wright?
Q. I just painted my room a shade of green, I have Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass windows. I want to make a headboard, so what did Mr. Wrights headboards look like? (Picture?) What kind of chair would Mr. Wright have for living room reading? (picture?) I am trying to make my room prairie style or Usonian style.

A. For the chair choices, click on this link for his Wisconsin home (Taliesin) and click on the slide show of the rooms. Mid century modern chairs and beds are closer to his later designs than Stickley Mission style is, but some of his earlier homes like the Meyer May house in Michigan, used Mission style pieces. I would get a very simple wooden headboard with modernist lines and a "Morris" chair of some kind, a frame chair with solid color upholstered seat, back and arms and a matching ottoman with a simple side table. Browse the architecture section of a bookstore for photo books of FLW interiors to get some ideas.

A. FLW believed he should control all aspects of you home. That is why he designed not only the house but all of the furniture and other accessories that went with it. He is probably the one of the most arrogant and untalented architechs of the 20th century.
